I know she has pictures of all her grandaughters, but if I had to wager who the grandma's favorites were, I'd say those are Rose, Ruby and Carmen, the middle kids who lay in bed beside her (yes, Ginger touches her while sitting, but it feels kinda possessive, almost as if she's craving for her grandmother's affection while looking at the player, silently telling us to back off).

I think the Girl in Red is the most dangerous of the Wolves, the most cunning, since she's the one who laughs whenever you don't play the game how it's supposed to be played. I think she's the one who sends the girls to meet the wolves, in the hopes of transforming them. Now the question is, what's the ultimate goal ? Pure sadism ? Revenge against Grandma, their forceful pack leader ? Because I have this theory Grandma is the Fairy/Witch who cursed the Girl in White during her times as "The Sleeping Beauty" (instead of the girl herself, it were her senses that were asleep, so she could be aware she would be taken advantage of by the corrupt princes), resulting in the Girl creating this split personality that manifested in the Woods, infiltrating among the wolf pack.

Thought of this comic recently and found the mirror...I miss that comic so damn much!

Something I wish is that later on, you can freely explore the house, but you can only go one route, after the fact (unless restarting the game) you cannot go back. Such as if you went into the basement as Carmen, you cannot go back in there and have to take another way to the final room. It would make more possibilities to how twisted the house has become in her mind.

I know this is an old video but something that has always bothered me about this game is what does the fridge in grandmother's house mean. Some girls the fridge is open and others it is closed. I cannot figure out what it's supposed to mean.

Just want to say that this was the first let's play series I ever watched, back in 2011. You opened a world of wonder, not only The Path, but you also introduced me to the Dragon Age franchise. I recently started streaming, and as I was going through my library to pick a game and saw The Path in there, I fondly remembered this series. So now The Path is also the first game I made a let's play of :)

This is such a good analysis !!! So relevant even now when i am playing this game 10 years after release. but I am glad i played and watched this analysis.

Im about a decade late but Carmen is a famous opera. That carmen seduces a man that leaves is wife and work duties to be with Carmen. However, by the time he makes it to her she is with another handsome man. Out of revenge and jelousy the first guy brutally murders Carmen.

I imagine Rose's story to also mean that she was getting too passive in her own life, letting other people decide things for her and not taking too much control, just like how she couldn't control the boat

The paved road fading into a rougher one is very interesting to me. To me, it shows how the beginnings of everyone is sort of "paved" by our parents, how to be social, how to talk, how to walk, etc. But as we get older it gets rougher and less structured as we take our own life and personality into our own hands
